About AltAI.

An independent directory of alternatives to popular AI tools, ranked for the reader.

What AltAI is

It covers alternatives to 96 popular AI tools in 11 categories, with 121 side-by-side comparisons and a blog of longer guides. Each page answers one question: if this tool is not right for you, what should you try instead?

AltAI is not owned by, and does not work for, any of the companies it lists.

How the rankings are made

Tools are ranked for the reader, on capability for the price, how honest the free tier is, track record, and fit with what the person searching actually wants. The full rules, including what disqualifies a tool, are on the How we rank page.

Rankings are decided first. Affiliate status never changes the order, and we do not sell placements.

How the site is paid for

Some links to tools are affiliate links: if you sign up through one, the vendor may pay us a commission at no cost to you. We may also show ads served by Google AdSense; the privacy policy explains what that involves.

Corrections and contact

If a page is wrong, out of date, or does not match your experience with a tool, tell us. Corrections, press and privacy requests all go to one inbox: see the contact page.
